O knihe

Addressing the threat of climate change is a current global priority. There is broad consensus that climate change is best addressed in the context of sustainable development. Gender inequalities and different gender roles, needs, and preferences which vary over space and over time influence the different ways in which different groups, including the poor, women and men experience the impacts of climate change and develop strategies to adapt to or mitigate them. This is a study that was an investigation on the extent of gender-responsive planning for climate change interventions in Embu County of Kenya. The research took cognizance of the many global, regional and country on-going discussion about climate change that takes very diverse forms and concentrates on various aspects of the problem. The study sought to establish the extent of involvement of different gender in planning climate change interventions in Kenya, the case study of Embu County. It is expected that data from the study will form an integral part of planning for gender-responsive strategies in the management of climate change in Kenya.
