O knihe

Biofertilizers are the organic substances which make use of microorganisms to increase the fertility of soil. The increasing demand for production of crops and food for such a vast population has led to an interest necessity for the use of biofertilizers for the betterment of these crops and even for the health of soil. Soil is a natural medium for the growth of different kinds of microorganisms. It is interesting to note that interaction of Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi with Rhizobium increases the growth of plants by enhancing the uptake of minerals especially phosphate and the biological nitrogen fixation. The dual inoculation of AM fungi and Rhizobium showed the synergistic effect on legume plant by means of growth enhancement, yield and tolerance for few days of drought stress. But the salt stress affected the growth of legume plants under green house conditions. It also suggested that the dual application of such biofertilizers not only enhanced the legume plant growth but also increased the soil fertility and reduced the risk of application of chemical fertilizers in the agricultural field. They are generally termed as eco-friendly fertilizers and do not cause any pollution.
