The study investigated the Knowledge, Attitude and Practices of Hygiene Behavior among the Residents of Hadi Village in Borama District Somaliland. Knowledge are the facts and information acquired by a person through experience or education, An attitude refers to a set of emotions, beliefs, and behaviors toward a particular object, person, thing, or event and is often the result of experience or upbringing, and they can have a powerful influence over behavior and Practices refers to a method, procedure, process, or rule used in a particular field or professional while Hygiene refers to conditions and practices that assist a person to keep up wellbeing and avoid the spread of disease. Knowledge was conceptualized as information, Facts and understanding of Hygiene behavior. Attitude was conceptualized as perception, belief and values. Practices were conceptualized as personal hygiene, food hygiene and water hygiene. The idea of hygiene behavior was introduced in 1974, and it was first implemented in England. According to UNICEF report approximately 1.8 million people die annually and 4 billion cases are associated with hygiene- related diseases which are becoming a major cause.
