Now if our text was uttered under such circumstances of inconceivable and indescribable terror - when his ungodly son lay stretched out before hls eyes a stiffened corpse - and not a ray of hope that his soul was in Heaven illuminated the darkness of the dispensation - then we have here a spec tacle of submission to God which may well be selected as an example worthy the imitation of all His children.
