O knihe
Modern physico-chemical methods such as electrolyte yields, goodness-of-fit and solution absorption spectra can be used as express methods to determine seed quality. High quality seeds have the lowest electrolyte yields and consequently the highest acidities. Seeds of poor quality, with reduced germination, have a several-fold increase in electrolyte yield, a significant decrease in quality and spectrophotometric absorption peaks. The accelerated aging method is based on a short-term storage of seeds under increased humidity and temperature, and allows to simulate a rapid and effective assessment of the growth strength of crops in the laboratory conditions, complementing the standard methods for assessing the sowing quality of seeds, as well as makes it possible to evaluate the ability to preserve the germination of seeds of different maize varieties under unfavorable storage conditions.
