Freshwater Molluscs belongs from the Gastropoda and Pelecypoda (Bivalvia). These are abundantly found in freshwater lotic and lentic ecosystems, but now a days due to human intrusion and over exploitation of surface water resources, leads to decline their population. Several native species of freshwater molluscs are on the verge of extinction which are has their key role in the freshwater ecosystem. This is a small effort in the context of identifying the native freshwater molluscs of the region, find out their systematic position, quality of water availability to them. In this regard in the current investigation a sincere effort has been made to accomplish the data of native freshwater molluscs and put forward the conclusion for the society. Policymakers should consider and take some concrete measures to maintain the freshwater ecosystem which include these Malacofauna. Present investigation was funded by UGC, WRO, Pune, India.
