The research outcomes, described in the book, have been carried out under ISTC Project by the experts and scientists of Kyrgyz Research Institute of Livestock, Veterinary & Pastures, Biotechnology Institute of a National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan and Kyrgyz State Medical Academy.The book is based on the materials of expedition and laboratory studies. The description of nature-and-climatic conditions of main uranium biogeochemical provinces of Kyrgyzstan is given in the book. The irradiation background, U content in biosphere objects - in soil, water, plants and animals is shown as well. The search for efficient phytomeliorants to rehabilitate U tailing dumps and improve the ecology in those regions draws one's attention. The issues of the effect of irradiation and radio nuclides on physiological and biochemical indexes of animals, and also biomedical problems and health status of U provinces' population are in the focus of discussion.
