This study identified and examined the risk implications of the government agencies inefficiencies within the supply chain network of the Nigerian downstream oil and gas sub-sector in relation to Forte Oil Plc business operations. Consequently, the study examined the various challenges faced and available business opportunities for Forte Oil Plc. In order to understand the framework of the industry, the study analyzed the industry using the Porter's Five Forces to determine its attractiveness in relations to new entrants, suppliers, buyers, competitors and substitutes products. Furthermore, a survey was conducted to examine respondent's views about the Supply Chain Network operations within the industry and the influence these government agencies have on the Supply Chain operations. The respondents views affirms the importance of these governments agencies but criticized their inefficiencies which have huge financial, operational and corporate reputation risk implications. The study also examined Forte oil Plc's organizational profile using the SWOT analysis to determine the organization's strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threat within the industry.
