Mobile Ad-hoc networks are the most preferred networks used for communication due to its ease of deployment and lack of infrastructure. However the routing in MANET's is a challenging task due to dynamic mobility, lack of centralized infrastructure and frequent route failures. This research paper is mainly focused on performance analysis and performance improvement of ad hoc network protocol. Because of flooding or broadcasting to disseminate the routing information, conventional routing algorithms cause significant network resource overhead due to the large number of messages generated at each host/router throughout the route update process. Motivated by the need to reduce the resource overhead associated with routing algorithms, and to form a multiple path with load balance, a novel Hybrid Multipath Progressive Routing protocol with low energy consumptions is proposed to solve these problems. This protocol has three novel aspects compared to the other on-demand multipath protocols: it reduces routing overhead significantly and achieves multiple node disjoint routing paths.
