There are many types of surgeries, from the simplest to the most complex, however, most patients who undergo surgery, suffer from metabolic alterations to a varying degree, which directly affects their recovery, these complications cause discomfort for the patient and health professionals, despite different treatments. Nowadays, a method is known that provides benefits applied to surgical patients, described by Emil and Estrid Vodder in 1936 known as Manual Lymphatic Drainage, which focuses on the lymphatic system, one of the most neglected and controversial issues throughout history, so it is important its research. In this work we analyze the efficacy of MLD treatment on pain, edema and functional movement in post-surgical patients.
