Over the last decade, 13 fields have been discovered in the waters of the Middle and Northern Caspian, 6 of them within the Northern Caspian Sea: within the Middle Caspian - 7. Along with discoveries in the region there are also negative drilling results at a number of drilled rises. The purpose of the dissertation was to study geological structure and development of the region, to reveal regularities of formation of hydrocarbon deposits using methods of basin modeling. The work deals with oil and gas bearing systems of two basins: Middle Caspian and South Caspian, according to the criteria of generation of hydrocarbons by oil and gas sequences.
