This book investigates multilingual literacy practices inside classrooms, exploring the technology applied in educational frameworks, and highlighting the importance of multilingual literacy outside of educational contexts. It highlights the importance of analysing literacy inside the classroom as well as outside the classroom. In four parts, the chapters deliver an overview of theory related to multilingual literacy, address the challenges of doing research in the area, describe and evaluate projects set up to foster multilingual literacy in a variety of educational contexts, and analyse the literacy practices of multilinguals outside the classroom and how these might influence acquisition of language and literacy.
