The study provides a picture of NiS in World War II through the analysis of a wide spectrum of documents from the archives of the security service, unavailable until recently. The official occupation authorities, as well as the duality of the governing between Nedic's administration and the German occupation authorities, are described through the analysis of the aforementioned documents of security services. The documents, alongside the state in the occupied city and its surroundings, give a picture of the attitude of the occupation authorities and domestic administration towards the resistance movements (royalist and communist) as well, and also the state of this part of Serbia during the occupation, from 1941 to 1944, that is, until the cessation of the occupation and the change in the government.
