Since the Islamic revolution, Iran's nuclear programme has become one of the United States' main foreign policy challenges. When Barack Obama was initiated as President of the United States, Iran's nuclear programme was one of the unsolved issues that he inherited. At the core of this challenge is one essential question: What is the most appropriate policy for the United States to address Iran's nuclear efforts? The purpose of this study is to examine Obama's foreign policy towards the Iranian nuclear programme by focusing on the possible advantages of a diplomatic approach. The book, therefore, addresses the challenges and opportunities facing Obama's diplomatic policy regarding Iran's nuclear programme. While the obstacles and challenges are durable, there are opportunities for achieving a compromise on some contentious issues. The analysis of this study is derived from neoliberal theory that is characterised by cooperation and diplomatic solution. This study concludes that the diplomatic policy could be effective in order to address Iran's nuclear issue, which would provide opportunity for cooperation in other areas of foreign affairs.
