O knihe

In the city, fear and uncertainty are always there, embodied in everyday life, in the way we organize our days: the routes we choose to travel, the schedules we create, the people we choose to relate to, the ways we inhabit "public" spaces and, in short, all the ways of experiencing the city are directly or indirectly related to this issue. The latent and permanent risk of becoming victims, that constant fear that is always with Bogotanos and it seems that in general with the inhabitants of the big cities of the world, little by little is isolating and locking individuals in their small fortresses: in their houses full of bars, keys and locks, and, in their jobs protected by high walls and security cameras, passing in the middle, through that insufferable tunnel through which they move from home to work: a place full of risks and threats that still almost no one can do without. The squares, the parks, the neighborhood have been replaced by the small garden inside the house, by the shopping mall, the gymnasiums, the synthetic courts and the gated communities.
