O knihe

This book dedicated to Taramira (Eruca sativa Mill.) research in Rajasthan area and how we can apply varietal Diallel Analysis in Eruca sativa. Taramira is important winter season oil seed crop of the family Brassicacease. It is as introduced in India. Taramira has desirable traits particularly resistance to powdery mildew tha can be transferred to Brassica campestris and Brassica juncea both of which are important crops. In Europe it is known as rocket salad, rocket rouette or arrugla, where it is generally grown for young leaves that are eaten as green salad. The name rocket is well documented in the old literature of the Holy land. The oil content in taramira ranges from 31.6-41.31 per cent which is affected by manuring, irrigation and disease management. Analysis of the oil profile has indicated that taramira oil has about 46.3 per cent erucic acid which is comparable rapeseed mustard crops, while oleic acid (28.7%), linolic acid (1.4%) and linolenic acid (2.1%) are considerably lower as compare to mustard oil. Taramira oil is mainly used in adulteration of mustard oil to increase pungency.
