O knihe
This book investigates the relationship between ownership concentration and firm performance of a sample of fifty five Sri Lankan public companies listed on the CSE. This study provides useful information of the performance level and the impacts of ownership on both accounting performance and market performance.Findings indicate that the percentages of shares owned by twenty largest shareholders have significant impact on performance (Tobin Q) of the listed banking, insurance and finance companies in Sri Lanka. And the percentages of shares owned by twenty largest shareholders have an impact on (ROA and ROE) performance of the listed banking, insurance and finance companies in Sri Lanka. But it is not significant. The insignificance of the relationship shows that there could be a nonlinear relationship between ownership concentration and a firm's performance (ROA and ROE).This finding suggests the existence of market irregularities in Sri Lanka which is common to most of the emerging markets
