Educational reforms and legislation at all levels have incorporated standards requiring teachers and students to perform at high levels while they are engaged in challenging curriculum. As higher Standards of accountability are implemented, clarity is needed regarding the technological abilities of various groups. Self-reported surveys make up the dominate assessment method in measuring the technological skills of teachers candidate. This book explores how self efficacy may play a role in this method of assessment. Therefore, there is a need to establish a performance-based assessment of teachers' technology skills in order to clearly identifying the basic computer skill levels of teacher candidates before they enter the classrooms. This book provides evidence why performance assessment are needed and should be especially useful in establishing accountability in teacher education programs. The manuscript examines the technological skills of teacher candidates to determine if a statistically significant difference exists between the perception and performance abilities.
