"Persuasion" (1817) is Austen's last completed novel, not published until after her death. It is the story of Anne Elliot, the neglected middle of the three daughters born to a proud but profligate baronet. Anne is a spinster who gave up the love of her life seven years earlier because his prospects seemed doubtful. Suddenly, he re-enters her life and she may have a chance at happiness at last.
This book is in the Deseret Alphabet, a phonetic alphabet for writing English developed in the mid-19th century at the University of Deseret (now the University of Utah).
