O knihe

Successful orthodontic treatment has always relied on anchorage. The growing demand for orthodontic treatment methods that require minimal compliance and provide maximal anchorage control, particularly for adults, has led to the expansion of implant technology in orthodontics. Mini-implant are available in various designs and sizes in market. The stability of the implants depends on bone quantity, mini-implant design and placement conditions. MSI placement generates stresses and strains along the length of the screw that damage the surrounding bone. Too much damage can lead to micromotion of the implant and early loss due to lack of stability.Out of the various methods of gaining stability, Platelet concentrations are gaining popularity for various reasons. Platelet concentrations include PRP and PRF. Out of the two, Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) is new generation platelet concentrate. PRF is minimally invasive method and there are various studies that has shown its role in enhancing the stability of general implants. However, there is no literature found regarding the effect of PRF in enhancing the stability of the orthodontic implant. Therefore, this study was undertaken.
