O knihe

The monograph by Hungarian economist György Simon, Jr. represents an attempt to reveal and analyse fundamental political and economic processes in Greece after the Second World War. The theoretical part of investigation describes the characteristic features of economic growth mechanism along with key issues of economic policy relating to the mobilisation of internal resources and international economic conditions. Subsequently, the author considers the main results of post-war development in Greece and the demand-side factors of Greek economic growth, with particular attention to foreign direct investment. The general growth model that was primarily used here for econometric investigation concerning Greece in the six decades between 1950 and 2010, i.e. largely prior to the latest debt crisis, is based on a Kaldorian approach to technical progress. It considers both physical and human capital, as well as time in the role of event space of creative economic activity.
