O knihe
The book is one of the maiden exertions expounding the nature and dynamics of administrative governance in Pakistan, ruminating over ascend and descend during various regimes. It transpires the politico-economic aspirations, practices and norms of 'Steel Frame of Administration' of the British Raj, spiralling through the inception and secession of Pakistan, purges, screening and reforms. Embroiling in politics, bureaucracy contravened the golden guidelines of Quaid-i-Azam. Bureau-politic bonhomie steered toward arbitrary decision-making, corruption scandals, kick-back culture, rent-seeking behaviour and lopsided accountability, etc. The author strived to explicate the grey areas in the bureaucracy of Pakistan by focusing on the public policy process, the politicization of bureaucracy, gradual institutional decay and estrangement between federal-provincial services. Well-structured analysis of quantitative study with imperative predictors resulted in plausible findings to eschew the grey areas. Extrapolated conclusions drawn to succour think tanks for refurbishing bureaucratic milieu. Apposite policy recommendations are furnished to cope with the challenges of the 21st Century.
