As the port activities expands the city around it gets diversified and the port loses importance. It takes for a while to integrate harbour areas into port-city using planning tools such as waterfront development and revitalisation of port region. This book tries to assess the port city development in India and Canada, taking examples of two port cities- Kandla and Halifax respectively.
