The book is a comprehensive compilation of probable postharvest diseases of papaya fruit during storage. Papaya is a climacteric and tropical fruit which suffers immense postharvest loss during storage. Chief pathogens are fungi and insects. Various physical and chemical means are used to manage this loss in several ways. But these means are not feasible in developing countries with poor perishable management facilities. Thus a sustainable native plant based pesticides are the substitute to the bio hazardous and costly chemicals. Biopesticides are cheap, indigenous, sustainable, biodegradable, easy to use, to store and pose minimum threat to human health. Thus botanicals are pesticides of the future.
