O knihe

The central theme is exogenous institutional change, related to electoral reforms. The fundamental objective is to explain one of the electoral reforms that has occurred in the form of a "wave" in the last 30 years in Latin America, taking as a reference the Theory of Dissemination. Specifically, it takes as object of investigation the electoral reform related to the incorporation of the primary elections in the countries of Latin America. From the general analysis on the "wave" of electoral reforms in Latin America, a second part is found where a descriptive and at the same time comparative analysis on the electoral reform of the primaries in Uruguay and Chile is detailed. The central idea of this second part is to delve into two quite particular cases in order to observe closely the variants that exist in the reforms of the primaries in the different countries of Latin America.
