O knihe
The problem of knowledge raised by Plato has shaped the ideas of contemporary epistemologists. 'Justified True Belief' has been unanimously accepted as the definition of knowledge in the history of philosophy. As a combination of the metaphysical element of truth, the psychological element of belief and the epistemological element of justification, it is one of the targets of Gettier who has questioned the validity of this 'traditional' definition. Post-Gettier thinkers have tried to evaluate Gettier problem with an understanding of the same in an idiosyncratic way. They have tried their best to avoid or solve the problem but no one has found a Gettier resistant analysis of knowledge. Gettier problem exhibits, among other things, the difference between a case of knowledge and a case of a knowledge claim. Human beings don't hesitate to claim knowledge even when what is claimed is merely a guess. It also explains that a single definition of propositional knowledge cannot be given for a multiplicity of propositions. Knowledge needs to be exonerated from the three conditions and many such associations and to be looked at from an independent and novel perspective.
