The Deglet-Nour variety produces high quality dates that are highly appreciated both on the national and international markets. However, a significant portion of the total production per palm is of poor quality, consisting of dry dates and waste dates. The production of quality dates is influenced by several factors that may be related to climate, soil and cultivation techniques applied. The improvement of the quality of date production is explained by a decrease in the rate of dry dates, the rate of immature dates and the rate of spoiled dates.
