O knihe

Vietnam is in the period of "golden population structure" with advantages and also challenges. According to statistical results from the Living Standard Survey of Households, numbers of elderly were growing rapidly since 1979 with 3.71 million, accounting for 6.9% of the total population, and this number reached 7.72 million in 2009 (occupied 9%) and it is predicted that by 2020, Vietnam would have more than 12 million of elderly. Quality of life (QoL) among elderly becomes a matter of concern because of its multi-dimensional concept, and highly subjective. QoL measured on four major domains namely physical, psychological, social, and environmental domain with its distinct features at different economic regions, certain socio-cultural areas. Hanoi is one of the biggest cities where have the fastest rate of economic development and crowded population. QoL of elderly in Hanoi after retirement often affected by a wide range of factors such as home economics, spouses relationship, and children, society, physical health, mental health, medical system... Nevertheless, lack of studies conducted to analyze factors associated with QoL among elderly living in urban areas in Hanoi.
