For several years, the torrential rains that fall in Brazzaville have paralyzed traffic, damaged infrastructure, public facilities and living areas, silting up, polluting waterways and causing loss of life. The objective of this study, carried out in the Tsiémé and Mfilou watersheds in 2013, is to study the rainfall risk in the vulnerable neighborhoods of the two watersheds, in order to propose adequate solutions applicable in these neighborhoods. The neighbourhoods are affected by bad weather which makes the populations vulnerable. The populations of these various precarious districts pay a high price through the impact of the pluvial risk and the effects which follow from it, loss of dwellings, enlargement of marginal lands, silting up of places or dwelling huts, spawning grounds at the level of the water courses, rupture of the dykes. In the neighbourhoods of the Tsiémé and Mfilou watersheds, 280 houses and 9,700 people are at risk. From 2006 to 2013, rainfall directly caused the death of 16 people and left many homeless in the capital city.
