The theater teaching experience in question took place in the second semester of 2018 in the discipline of Art through the Institutional Program of Teaching Initiation Scholarship (PIBID) at the Ruy Araújo State School, in which students from the 9th grade of Elementary School II between 14 and 16 years of age participated. The objective was to develop games of the theater of the oppressed with the social reality of the students, leading them to a process of reflection, thus creating practical conditions for them to appropriate the means of making theater and expand their possibilities of autonomy and transformation of the context in which they are inserted. The methodology used was research so that the students reflect through the practice carried out among them. The results observed through the practice and public presentation of some scenic experiences, point to the possibility of successfully relating the teaching of theater at school to a theatrical practice of the students.
