O knihe

In the field of mobile and ubiquitous computing, little is known about reliability features contrary to mature fields like software engineering, though it has progressed a lot. This study aims at investigating the factors which contribute to reliability in this field and how to work with them in order to assess, predict and improve the reliability features, what should be the desired levels of reliability metrics identified. The study will be more geared towards the energy considerations when applying location-aware transmission. The aim is to formulate models for reliability development and enhancements in pervasive computing starting from energy consumption and signal intensity considerations and all subsequent engineering features which are concerned right from design stages, e.g. provision for fault tolerance. Simulations over a relevant platform (NS2) have been carried out involving random movements of nodes and random communication scenarios over appropriate topography and measures for energy considerations will be recorded in separate files. Behaviours and relationships among different metrics under different conditions will be recorded and analysed.
