O knihe

The field experiment was carried out during the month of June to October 2009 at the Experimental Farm of School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development, Nagaland university, Campus :Medziphema, Nagaland with the objective to study 'The Effect of Phosphorus and Boron on Growth, Yield and Quality of Soybean (Glycine max L. merril) in Acid Soil of Nagaland'. The experiment was carried out in Randomised Block Design (RBD) with three replications. Four levels of phosphorus (P0, P20, P4o and P60) and four levels of boron (B0, B0.5, B1 and B1.5) were taken as treatments. The response of soybean to various treatments were recorded. It was found that the Phosphorus and Boron application significantly influenced the growth, yield and yield attributes, the protein content, nutrient uptake (NPKB) and available soil nutrient (NPKB) at different levels of P and B. Their combined effect also showed significant influence in all the stages of its observation. The combined application of 60 kg P2O5 and 1.5 kg B ha-1 was found to promote better growth, development and yield of soybean under the acidic soil condition of Nagaland.
