The present book sheds new light on bibliology, one of the many disciplines belonging to the vast field of information and communication sciences. This sector did not seem to be very well known in the scientific world and more precisely in certain academic circles. Contemporary bibliology is attached to the personality of Robert ESTIVALS. On the one hand, he has largely contributed to the establishment of Bibliology on solid epistemological, theoretical, methodological and practical bases as a science of the written word or of written communication, one of the Information and Communication Sciences (ICS), and on the other hand, to the training of Congolese and African bibliologists.
