A story, written in verse, about how a small chicken comes to Santa's rescue on Christmas Eve when all of Santa's reindeer come down with the flu and are unable to pull Santa's sleigh. The chicken talks to Prancer, the lead deer, and Prancer reveals that the jingle bells that he wears are the power that enables the reindeer to fly on Christmas Eve. The chicken takes the bells to Santa, and after a brief discussion, grows to ten feet tall and is able to carry Santa and all of the toys on his back so Santa can complete his mission that night.
The story is beautifully illustrated by the author's grandson, Louis Lonsway, a professional ilustrator.
