Fiction is a poetic genre that enhances imaginative and emotional power. Imagination often allows us to visit places that we can only imagine and can put us into a euphoric state of mind. Imagination can create suspense, mystery and a visit to what might have been or could be. Imagination can be an adventure to pleasure. Imagination is the unknown or the unvisited journey from within our own minds. Imagination; just a short journey away from reality. This is the premise of my book, although imagined, it should raise our awareness and pique our curiosity. Could it be? Might it be? Should it be? Allow your imagination to explore all of these options.
World War II ended in May 1945. This journey starts in Germany with a single mom of twin boys in a war torn country. Poor would have been the understatement of a lifetime. They started with absolutely nothing. Fortunately, the United States was welcoming foreigners. This would start their journey to the opportunity of a lifetime. Although a long and arduous process, they did leave for the U.S. in 1951. At the beginning it took courage and a huge risk on their part. They had a dream and a vision. It's because of them that this magical journey was possible.
This book has enabled me to put into words the journey of a gay man. Hopefully the readers will see similarities. Gay acceptance and gay lifestyles are now more the norm. Gay marriage has become legal in all states. It has taken many, many years to get to this point. It was a difficult and a challenging fight.
