Self esteem is a personal judgment of worthiness. In this judgment if the individual evaluates his worth positively, he is supposed to have high self esteem and vice-versa. Adolescent having low self esteem is vulnerable to criticism and rejection. An adolescent with a high self-esteem is better psychologically adjusted, and conform to social standards. As we know the home is the primary agent of socialization for the children. It shapes the personality of the children.
