O knihe

The concerning urban problem faced with inner cities is the notion of urban decline. Drawing from this, a number of researchers have reported that urban decline is the result of the deterioration of the inner city and is often caused by a lack of investment and maintenance, alongside a decline in population numbers, decreasing economic performance and unemployment. Most of the inner cities and big towns have in one way or the other experienced urban decline. So many reasons can be attributed to urban decline, including but not limited to, property abandonment, crime, high unemployment and the rundown of inner city services, leading to the failure to attract new investment. This book therefore provides an analyses of the socio-economic implications of urban regeneration as an approach to curb inner city decline. The analysis sheds knowledge on how retracting the loss of the inner city, urban regeneration acts as a suitable tool in addressing redevelopment and rebranding of the inner city. The analysis should be useful for land developers or anyone else interested in the dynamics of planning for the people.
