O knihe
Women roles in the church has for a long time been ignored. This has been based on the fact that the Christian culture in which the first Christians lived greatly devalued women. Men dominated all roles in the church starting from leadership to other minor roles. Women continue to be marginalized in church yet they constitute the majority of those engaged in religious and social work. This study therefore, aims at investigating the socio-spiritual roles of lay women in the Catholic Church. Specifically the study aims at examining the socio-spiritual roles of lay women in St Charles Lwanga Catholic Parish; to explore challenges and possible solutions in their various roles and to assess the future of socio-spiritual roles of lay women in St Charles Lwanga Hambale Catholic Parish. The study borrowed its theoretical framework from arguments posited by theology of reconstruction, feminist theology and structural functionalism .That is, lay women have taken active roles in the church and their contributions have greatly influenced the growth of the church and there is a lot to get from lay women roles as a church and as individuals and vice versa.
