In the first book, the trio was the accidental recipients of three alien super suits and were called upon to protect Earth from alien invasion. This time around, they've been challenged to a game of baz ball by the galactic champions and all-around alien meanies. They're playing for the moon in this hilarious, winner-take-all match-up. Fortunately, the team has a new member with a new super suit. But not everyone is thrilled with this new turn of events, especially their de facto leader, Newton. The Spit Mechs series, designed for readers from second through fifth grade, puts kids squarely in the hero seat. Each suit has a different power determined by the color of crystal placed into its chest. Kids love talking about the power they want to have in their own super suit. Fortunately, each new installment in the series introduces new powers to stimulate readers' imaginations. More mature themes are avoided, as our pre-teen heroes cope with the challenges of self-confidence, empathy and friendship.
