Ocimun sanctum Linn belonging to the family Lamiaceae. It is commonly known as Tulsi, holy basil. The fresh leaf and stem contains ursolic acid, carvacol, linalool, apigenin, eugenol, rosameric acid. The fresh leaves of Ocimun sanctum is used for treatment of diabetes mellitus. It is used to treatment of fever, malaria and dangue.
