O knihe

This is the amazing story of Rancho Sordo Mudo, a free home and school for deaf children in Mexico. Founded in 1969 by Ed and Margaret Everett, the Ranch has challenged and changed thousands of lives--including the Everetts'! Through fire and restoration, triumph and devastation, the family has never lost faith in God's divine plan. As a result, their unwavering persistence and devotion transformed 500 acres of unoccupied land into a blessed ministry that has provided hope and a future for deaf children (and people of all ages--hopefully even you!) for nearly forty years.

""Now, to Luke's many qualities must be added one more: he's also a gifted writer! . . . [R]eaders . . . come to know about the ministry of Rancho Sordo Mudo and its impact on thousands of hearing-impaired Mexican children who, without the love and encouragement of the people who make up this ministry, would have been . . . forever condemned to endure the silence of their own thoughts. God has used the Everett family and the staff of Rancho Sordo Mudo in amazing ways, and we pray that He will continue to do so!""
--Cyril J. Barber, author of The Faithfulness of God: Devotional Studies in I Chronicles (2002)

""Down through the ages God has called certain men and women to unique tasks for His kingdom. Luke Everett is one of those men called to the exciting ministry of Rancho Sordo Mudo. You will be encouraged and inspired with this special story of God's love for the hearing impaired children of Mexico.""
--Bob Phillips, Hume Lake Christian Camps and Pointman Leadership Institute

""Stepping Out in Faith is a real, inspirational story that has impacted my life. Luke Everett will make you laugh, cry, and thank God that His plan is better than ours.""
--Jerry Huson, Mariners Church, Irvine, California

An ordained minister and second-generation missionary, Luke Everett is the director of Rancho Sordo Mudo, a free home and school for Mexican deaf children, in Baja, California, and Baja, Mexico.

Delighting audiences with his humor and challenging listeners to seek God, Everett is also an international speaker at conferences and churches. Happily married since 1985, he and his wife Josefina, a former Ranch student and current instructor at the children's chapel, have three sons: Lucas, Joshua, and Samuel. For fun and exercise, Everett enjoys mountain-bike riding and competing in triathlons and half-marathons.
