O knihe
Crystallography began as an independent branch of science in 17th-18th centuries. It is concerned with study of molecular structure; it has assumed an increasingly important role in modern science, because of its interdisciplinary nature, which has acted as a bridge between, various rapidly evolving disciplines. It has significantly contributed to the advancement of physics, chemistry, material science and biology etc. 1.Elastic protein-based polymers have their origins in repeating sequences of the mammalian elastic protein. The parent polymers, (Val-Pro-Gly-Val-Gly)n, (Ala-Pro-Gly-Val-Gly-Val)n and (Val-Pro-Gly-Gly)n are derived from sequences of mammalian elastin protein. These polymers have a number of medical and non-medical applications. 2.Nitrenium ions, which are isoelectronic with carbenes are discussed extensively in many reactions. They are reactive intermediates that contain a divalent, positively charged nitrogen atom. Some of them are considered to be the carcinogens in carcinogenics initiated by the aromatic amines. In this context, it is of interest to investigate the crystal structure of protected peptides and nitrenium ions.
