The foliar nematodes Aphelenchoides besseyi Christie has been identified as the key pest to this crop and is posing a serious threat to the tuberose cultivation all over the country. This nematode develops pin holes like brown spots on flower, stalks, entire in the growing flower buds. As a result, the flower stalk may become stunted with crippled flower head and distorted flowers. Even sometimes there may be no opening of flower bud at all.
