O knihe
The world is urbanizing. More than half of its population lives in urban areas and this will increase to 68% by 2050. Nearly 90% of this increase will take place in Asia and Africa. Hence, improving urban sustainability is necessary for all countries in the world, especially countries in Asia and Africa. Cambodia, a country in Asia, has been trying its best to improve the sustainability of its cities and urban areas. Its efforts resulted in many signs of progress, such as a clean city standard, green city development program and sustainable city plan for its capital. This book attempts to share experiences and case studies on the development and management of sustainable cities in Cambodia to the world, particularly to countries in Asia and Africa. This book presents the global, regional and national relevant indicators and the developed consensus indicators for urban sustainability assessment in Cambodia, including an application of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 11 (UN SDG 11) indicators to Cambodia.
