This is an English translation of Alexander L. Kielland's 1891 collection of short stories, "Tales of Two Countries". Alexander Lange Kielland (1849 - 1906) was one of the most significant and celebrated Norwegian realistic writers during the19th century, belonging to "The Four Greats" together with Jonas Lie, Henrik Ibsen, and Bjørnstjerne.
