O knihe
This book endeavors to evaluate De Beauvoir's postulation through a feminist reading of three novels: Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights (1847), Leila Aboulela's The Translator (1999) and Radwa Ashour's Farag (2008). The heroines of these novels exhibit virile characteristics which subvert the patriarchal notion of women's innate weakness. The researcher categorizes the female characters' standing-whether they remain completely immanent or permeate transcendence into their lives-and concludes that the effect of maintaining transcendence along with immanence achieve them autonomy and fulfillment and help them lead their lives in a better manner. This study is executed under the supervision of Prof. Yehia Kamel El-Sayyed and Dr Ramadan Mohamed Al-Azawy.
