O knihe
This small text offers a thoughtful tour of the place that flowers occupy in culture, of their hidden power and of their amazing resistance on a symbolic, empirical and even therapeutic level. After describing some moments and areas in which flowers have played and continue to play a fundamental role, the avatars they experience in globalized societies are shown. From the creation of the impossible of a blue rose, the reflection goes into the paths that lead to the pressing and paradoxical problems coming from the contemporary scientific-technical civilization. Technoscience that, in alliance with capitalism in its current stage, becomes technocracy. The blue rose thus appears as the friendly face of a devastating power that is not willing to recognize any limits and therefore, challenges our way of being in the world, dismissive and predatory of biodiversity on a large scale. It seems that all capacity to contemplate and listen to animal and plant life has been lost. However, the clamour of nature is becoming more and more intense. The blue rose wants to tell us something, it is resisting so that we can listen to it. Shall we do it?
