O knihe
Vermicomposting is the conversion of biodegradables into vermicompost using various earthworms. The biodegradables includes agricultural waste, biodegradables from homes and markets. The waste are collected and kept in a wooden white bin perforated with holes for aeration and water draining, the earth worms were introduced into the wooden bin to feed on the waste under a controlled environment. Regular watering and mixing is done to ensure the process is heterogeneous. Depending on the decomposition rate, after a couple of weeks, the biodegradable waste must have been transformed into a powdering substance known as vermicompost with little of no solid particle in it indicating its readiness for use. The worms will be harvested and the decomposed waste(vermicompost) was used for the planting of green vegetable, the same green vegetable was also planted in humus soil and a controlled soil. The various green vegetable seeded on vermicompost, humus soil and the control were compared leading to a logical conclusion.
