O knihe

The main objective of this study is to discuss the efficacy of UN in the Israel-Palestine Conflict since Balfour Declaration of 1917 to Present Day Initiatives. The study has used comparative analysis method. It has assessed the situation in Palestine and the lesson learnt from other international disputes resolutions, namely Burundi conflict, Democratic Republic Congo conflict, Rwanda genocide, Iraq conflict and Somalia conflict. The study has found that the UN has not adequately succeeded to settle international disputes. The main reason behind its slim success is veto authority which gives room to five permanent members of UN Security Council to do whatever for their interest. Finally, the researcher has provided recommendation on the possible measures to be taken in order to curb the situation. It is recommended that more than UN supervision is required, actual and effective intervention is needed and it should be based on justice principles.
