O knihe
Examining the language used in the task-orientedconversation can provide the fundamental theoreticalframework for communication applications andcollaboration systems, which are highly demandingapplications for emerging social software. There aretwo approaches to language uses: the product approachand the action approach. The product approachemphasizes the products of language use likelinguistic study of sentences, words, and speechsounds. On the other hand, the action approach growsout of philosophical and sociological investigationof intentions and social actions. The investigation of computer-mediated communicationcan also be conducted and compared with the productand action approaches. The product approach has beenused in traditional communication systems like filetransfer protocol and email system. However, new, increasingly common opportunities for ubiquitousconnectivity prefer the action approach of languageuses, which places value in the discourse process. The experiment investigated in this book presentedthe process of how the handheld network service"Look" could facilitate effective language uses forcreating common ground among discourse participants.
